CT RACs

CASAC is one of 14 Regional Action Councils (RACs) in the State of Connecticut. Together, the RACs form the Connecticut Prevention Network, that works to provide your community with education, training, and advocacy for substance abuse prevention.

To learn more about the RACs, be sure to visit thier website: click here
RACs were created by the state legislature in 1989 and have taken the lead on programs to combat tobacco, alcohol, drug and gambling addiction across the state.

Because our organizations are led by local educators, parents, business people, social service providers, law enforcement officials, clergy, government leaders, and youth, RACs are responsive, focused, and tailors to meet your community's specific needs.

All RAC Directors are required to be certified by the State as Prevention Professionals. This means you get the high quality prevention programs available in the state.

Among the programs that RACs provide are:

  • Solution to reduce addictions
  • Awareness, Education, and Prevention
  • Community Mobilization
  • Public Policy Development
  • Training
  • Technical Assistance
  • Survey, Needs Assessments, and Data Collection
  • Research and Evaluation
  • Program Development
  • Project Collaboration and Role Modeling
  • Legislative Advocacy
